There is a moment - and if you've been in a chair long enough, you know it - when you look in the mirror and something shifts. Not just the color. Something deeper. Something that was hidden has been revealed, and the person looking back feels more like herself.
I have been chasing that moment for over two decade.
Connection & Color has always been my language. Long before I understood the chemistry of it - the underlying pigment, the way porosity drinks in tone, the patience required to lift without breaking - I understood the feeling of it. The way the right shade can make a woman's eyes change. The way a client walks out differently than she walked in. Not just styled.
Seen.
My path has not been a straight line. It has been layered, like color itself. I began as an esthetician - learning the skin, the body's surface, the relationship between inner health and outer glow. That foundation never left me. It became the lens through which I see hair: not as decoration, but as extension of the self. Not as a trend, but as a living, breathing record of where you've been and where you're going.
Along the way I found Korean philosophy through my own roots, first through skincare, then through the scalp. I became certified in Korean Hygee Scalp Massage, a practice that treats the scalp as sacred ground. The place where everything begins. I started weaving simple attunements into my sessions - small ceremonies of presence that turn a service appointment into something quieter and more intentional.
Ongi was born from all of this. From the belief that what happens in this chair matters beyond the aesthetic. That corrective color is an act of restoration, not just chemistry. That a cut can be a release. That when we take care of the scalp, we are tending to more than hair.
If you've been here before, you know what I mean. If you're new, I'm glad you found your way.
This studio exists for the woman who wants her hair appointment to feel like coming home.
I'll see you in the chair so we can connect over the ritual that is right for you.
